Chief Executive Officer
Dr Joseph Saba, co-founder of Axios, is a Lebanese and French medical doctor specialized in infectious disease, health management and statistics. He previously worked with the Global Program on AIDS in the World Health Organization and UNAIDS, and he is known internationally for his expertise in the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and for establishing the first HIV/AIDS anti-retroviral drug access programs in Africa and in developing countries. Dr Saba is a specialist in program implementation, including cost-effectiveness analysis, policy development and access to medicines and health care services. He is currently spearheading a new effort to develop creative strategies to increase access to medicines in low- and middle-income countries.
